We are working on improving our facility to better service our students and clients. During the renovation lessons have been moved to 341 Charlotte St in Peterborough. Our recording services have been put on temporary hold until the new facility is functional. Our goal is to provide the same great service during our renovation that we have shown over the past 6 years. We apologize for any inconvenience this causes but are excited to welcome students back to our permanent location in the spring of 2026!

Drum Teacher, Audio Engineer
Nick Gilroy
Originally from Peterborough, Ontario, Nick has been playing the drums for over 10 years. He has experience in various genres and ensembles; both in the studio and performing live shows. Nick has often been seen playing drums for musicals; as well as filling in for bands that needed a drummer for shows and studio recordings.

Bass Teacher
Sam Quinn
Chances are, if you have seen musical theatre in Peterborough, ON anytime in the last 10 years, you have heard the bass playing of Sam Quinn. Sam has been music director, band leader and player for over 20 musical theatre shows and many more jazz, funk, rock and R&B ensembles in Peterborough and Toronto. Featured on dozens albums from down-home country to jazz fusion and everything in between, Sam is as at home in the studio as he is on (or under) the stage.

Piano Teacher
Katie Gilroy
Her years-long experience as a self-taught, ear-trained jack-of-all-trades has evolved into a fascination with eclectic, albeit structured learning methods. With experience teaching all ages—from children to older adults—and using multiple music curriculums, she values and prioritizes each student, jumping at opportunities to create fun, inclusive learning environments. Katie believes music should be approachable and accessible; through feedback and insight, she hopes to instil confidence in her students.

Trumpet Teacher
Lori Davidson
Born and raised in Peterborough, Lori has been playing trumpet/flugelhorn/cornet/baritone for more than 40 years. Lori attended Queen’s University and North Texas State University where she studied Music Education and Jazz Performance. Over the years, Lori has performed with a variety of ensembles including The Kawartha Jazz Ensemble, Peterborough Concert Band, Peterborough Wind Symphony, Peterborough Symphony Orchestra as well as many musical theatre Groups in the area.

Guitar & Ukulele & Drum Teacher
Calvin Bakelaar
Calvin Bakelaar is an experienced musician based in Peterborough, Ontario, with a passion for teaching. He has been playing drums since the age of 12 and guitar since 2018. As the recipient of the 2024 Peterborough Folk Festival Emerging Artist Award and with original music released under his artist name, VANCAMP, Calvin brings his expertise as a singer/songwriter to his teaching. His lessons are designed to inspire creativity and help students develop their own unique musical voice.
